We are delighted to announce the Athlete Development Programme (ADP), that we began in 2025 running again this year BIGGER and BETTER.
Geez A Gi's main operational objective is to make martial arts accessible, by removing the financial constraints that many face in accessing training. In June of 2025, through the growth of the charity in previous years, we were able to move from only supplying uniforms to also providing grants in the form of our ADP.
The Board agreed to allocate £300 to the first year of this programme; which was split equally between two athletes, Lola Beynon and Anabelle Scott. Over the course of the year, the athletes attended World Championships, taking titles, and also became the youngest individual to present a Katana form at a Kobudo competition.
The goal of ADP is to develop the athlete, this may be through attendance at a competition or seminar, or through experiences such as attending events.
This year we have received generous donations and support, a notable one that has directly effected this years ADP was that from Gallagher for £1000. Because of this the Board have decided to increase the number of Athletes we will sponsor this year to three, and to award each other them £250.
If you would like to be considered for this grant, or would like to nominate someone please see below.
